Exposition. Abstract Painting, Once Removed

03 octobre 1998 - 06 décembre 1998

USA, Houston, Contemporary Arts Museum

"A visually and intellectually provocative exhibition which explores the future of abstract and non-objective painting. By re-thinking the definition of "painting" and varying tools, media, process and display of their painting-like objects, the twenty artists in this exhibition show their commitment to this tried and tested form while wrestling with the accepted notions of its boundaries. Artists include: Polly Apfelbaum, Uta Barth, Fandra Chang, Jeff Elrod, Jim Hodges, Emil Lukas, Aaron Parazette, and others. The exhibition is organized by the Contemporary Arts Museum and curated by Senior Curator Dana Friis-Hansen. "
