Notes : Sol LeWitt's exhibition of wall paintings at the ACE Gallery, New York last year was described by The Los Angeles Times as " staggeringly beautiful" and by The New York Times as maybe his "finest hour". LeWitt will create a site-specific installation at the MCA as a John Kaldor Art Project, which is then executed by artisans following written instructions by the Minimalist maestro. As an environment, they engulf the viewer in waves, sweeps and runs of electrifying black, alternating with matte and glossy surfaces.
