Notes : [ Presenting over 100 photographs combined with a selection of drawings, prints and paintings, Images from the Machine Age celebrates the diverse visions of the modernist period. The exhibition spans from the 1920s to the 1940s, a period which saw the tremendous development of urban-industrial phenomena and heralded a profound new role for the machine art of photography. These works from the collection of Daniel Cowin illustrate the relationships among painting, collage, and photography as well as the decorative arts, advertising and design. The exhibition includes images by photographers such as Man Ray, Walker Evans, Berenice Abbot, Lotte Jacobi, and Ilse Bing.
