Since Christo and Jeanne-Claude created Wrapped Coast - One Million Square Feet, Little Bay, Sydney  1969, John Kaldor has invited many leading international artists to Australia, and has amassed an extraordinary collection of contemporary art, seen for the first time at the MCA. The exhibition also features Jeff Koon's recent works and shows the fascinating process of the making of "Puppy"

The Native Born: Objects and Representations from Ramingining includes displays of bark paintings, sculptures, and functional objects and materials according to the Yolgnu (Aboriginal) system of classification of the natural world.

The four artists in this year's exhibition, the fifth in the series, are all from one city, Melbourne. Whilst the artists have been chosen on the basis of their individual projects, not the city they come from, the exhibition does provide an opportunity to look at work that has come out of a shared creative context.

Art in Australia 1861-1996 Australie, Sydney, Museum of Contemporary Art http://www.mca.com.au/haring/spirit.html Spirit and Place seeks to contribute to the present process of convergence and partnership between the cultures of indigenous and non-indigenous Australians by considering a broad range of works from the last hundred years through a fresh perspective. The exhibition brings together over one hundred and twenty works by around sixty artists, and includes paintings, installations, carvings, photographs, works on paper and important new works by a number of artists.
